We moved from Gumroad to Lemon Squeezy because Lemon Squeezy provides a far more robust API that allows us to provide a smooth onboarding experience.

GitLab → GitHub

With the way we structured our GitLab invites, GitLab wanted to charge us $24/mo per user. 😬

Moving everything to GitHub made a lot more sense and it includes a number of other bonuses:

• Our forum is consolidated in to GitHub Discussions, so everything is in one place
• We updated our automated deployments to be with GitHub Actions + Docker Swarm, so you can see how those work
• Our invite process is dramatically simplified, making it easier for new users to get onboard
